In May 2024, the MINIMA team travelled to Doncaster to attend Block Tech 2024 — not just as guests, but as the team behind the conference’s rebrand and new website.
Seeing our work come to life in a real-world setting was a big moment for us. As a fully remote creative agency, this was also a rare opportunity to come together in person
Into Doncaster We Go 🚆
We travelled in by train — some of us from around the UK, others from overseas — and headed straight to Doncaster Racecourse, where the conference was being hosted. We spent the afternoon setting up key materials and getting a feel for the space.
A Shared Space, A Stronger Team
After setup, we checked into a shared Airbnb, which turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip. As a remote-first team, we don’t often get the chance to work (and hang out) together in real life. This gave us time to talk, plan, laugh, and properly connect.
Pre-Conference Networking
The evening before the main event, Jakub and Katherine represented MINIMA at the official networking night. Set in a relaxed, social setting, it was the perfect opportunity to meet other attendees and start building connections ahead of the big day.
Show Time: Block Tech 2024 Begins
We were up bright and early on conference day. First job: placing MINIMA leaflets on every table and slipping our business cards into every gift bag. We wanted to make sure everyone attending had a chance to discover who we are and what we do.
Once the conference kicked off, we joined a day full of panels, keynotes and discussions on everything from blockchain regulation to decentralised futures. Our CEO took the stage to introduce MINIMA and share the story behind the event’s rebrand — a standout moment for the whole team.
Good Food, Better Conversations
The next day, we wrapped up the experience with a meal for all attendees at a local Turkish restaurant. After the intensity of the conference, it was the perfect way to wind down, revisit conversations, and lay the groundwork for future collaborations.
